We had a great time then, now we are back working again, but we'll always remember your fantastic trip

Dear Erich,
we are safely back home. The trip to Uyuni remains unforgetable. We would like to thank you for having organized perfectly well our privat trip to the Bolivien Lagoons and the Salar de Uyuni. We saw everything as promised in the program. You were a very dedicated and knowledgable guide paying much attention to our personal wishes and needs. We also appreciated the care you took to to prepare the excellent lunch meals and for having selected good quality hotels. Last but not least we appreciate so much all the beautiful pictures you made during the trip and for having given them to us as a farawell gift. Truly nice of you.
We wanted to stop at your office after the trip to north Chile to thank you once more and to report on the road conditions up there. Surprisingly, we had to learn that Knowchile has no office anymore in San Pedro de Atacama and Cactus was closed. The road along the coast to Iquique is new and in an excellent condition, but no nice place to stay for a night. From Iquique to Arica nothing to be seen twice. The road to lago Chungara gets nicer the higher it is above sea level. The Hotel Terrace Lodge in Putre was a real treat. New, clean, in the green, a good shower, quiet, nice owners and cheaper than you would expect if related to comparable
housings in that area. You can recomend it to everybody. Unfortunately they have only a few rooms. The dirt raod from Putre to Quallatiri is wide and in an excellent condition, probably well maintained by a mining company. The river after that village is now crossed by a bridge, so no problem to get through. The Salar de Surire is wonderful, we drove all around it. On its south side are hot springs where one could take a bath. Therafter, south of the Salar, the road to Colchane is rougher, narrower and attention must be paid to some holes. It would be at the limit for a 2 wheel driven car, namely because of sandy passages. We did not go all the way into Colchane but about 30 km more north took a short cutsouth west to see the village of Mauque. The international road to Iquique has spectacular scenary in the mountains. Ericu, thank you so much for a spectacular day in the Colchagua. Youwere just TOOOOOO much fun for words and I am already scheming how to get back to northern Chile. We really loved the wineries and the wine we bought was divine. Would you mind sending me a case of ZEUS?? Just kidding. But I dont think it would be a big problem for somebody who wraps himself in Vicuna down to his toes and floor.
I hope we see you again. You have probably met some geologists my husband knows during all your time up there. Do you know Chuck Stern??
I will keep in touch with you--it is ok if you dont write because i know you dont like to - i havent set up my MSN messenger because i dont like to talk..I could not read your email address but one of these will reach you. Hi Erich,You managed to get us to the top of Cerro Toco in the snow back in February, an achievement that will stay with us for a very long time! Lieber Erich! Danke für deine Begleitung unserer Gruppe! Wir hätten uns keinen besseren guide wünschen können als dich! Du kennst dich bestens aus, hast uns auch Wege abseits der üblichen Besucherpfade geführt, weißt über Pflanzen und Tiere großartig Bescheid, bist ein wirklich guter Fahrer und sprichst überdies ausgezeichnet Englisch, was für meine Gruppe von unschätzbarem Wert war! Wir haben dich in den 4 Tagen in der Wüste sehr ins Herz geschlossen, danke für deine heitere, immer geduldige und so herzliche Art!

Danke auch dir, Nicolas, für die gute Vorbereitung unserer Reise und die Hilfe bei allen Vorbereitungen!

​Querido Erich, gracias por acompañar a mi grupo! No podriamos haber encontrado un mejor guia! Nos llevaste en caminos un poco fuera de las rutas turisticas comun y corrientes, sabes montones sobre plantas y animales, eres un excelente chofer y hablas un fantástico inglés, lo que ayudo mucho con mi grupo en el cual nadie entendia el español. Nos hemos encariñado mucho contigo en estos 4 dias en el desierto, gracias por tu manera de ser tan alegre y cordial y para tu paciencia con nosotros! Gracias por todo!!​

Hice un tour con Know Chile y - non solamente voy a volver a San Pedro - como voy a hacer muchos otros tours con Know Chile (con los amigos que hice nel tour).

Erich hace de modo que uno conozca las bellezas naturales de San Pedro, viviendo toda la riqueza de la cultura local!

Divertido, instructivo, distinto de todo lo que he visto hasta hoy!

Estive no Chile em Agosto/2010 (e só agora estou aqui dando meu testemunho!) e o deserto do Atacama foi um dos lugares mais maravilhoso que conheci até hoje. Como burro que era, quando pensava em deserto logo vinha o Saara em minha cabeça. Areia, oasis, areia, camelos, areia e mais areia. Fui surpriendido por uma biodiversidade tamanha e visuais SENSACIONAIS. Os olhos se cansam de tanta beleza!!!!

Tudo isso não seria tão bom se não fosse nosso guia Erich, que recomendava os melhores lugares para conhecer de acordo com o clima e nível de aventuras que esperava e com toda sua paciência e obstinação ajudava a superar desafios.  Só houveram pontos altos neste passeio pelo Atacama, mas com certeza o ápice foi a escalada do Cerro Toco, um vulcão inativo com 5.600m de altitude. A falta de ar, o cansaço e o mal de altitude (sim, passei por isto na descida!) fizeram desta a melhor aventura de minha vida até hoje!!!!

Além disso, não percam Geisers El Tatio, Trekking com Termas de Puritama e o Salar de Atacama com Flamingos e por do Sol. Tudo maravilhoso.

A Know chile é uma operadora de turismo local que atendeu todas as minhas expectativas, tanto de opções como de custo. Recomendo aos Brasileiros, mesmo aqueles menos familiarizados com o espanhol, pois o Erich entende bem o Portunhol e fala um Espanhês bastante coimpreensível também. rsrsr

San Pedro de Atacama is a magical place...a place that you cannot believe your eyes...feels like being in different planet...

But none of these would matter much if it wasn't for Erich and for Know Chile's excellent hospitality and know-how.

Erich, thanks for everything!You have been a great guide, an amazing person to meet! It's been a true pleasure to make all these conversations with you, through which we got to know Chile better and felt like home.

Excelente, tomamos tour por 4 días, recorrimos lagunas altiplánicas, géisers, salar, termas, valle de la luna, etc., todo ESPECTACULAR. Resultó muy entretenido, una experiencia inolvidable. Erick muy buen guía, hace muy entretenidos los viajes y sabe hasta el mas mínimo detalle de cada lugar lo que lo hace aun más fascinante. Por otro lado es realmente un agrado que sean tours con una cantidad pequeña de personas, se disfruta muchísimo más, es mucho mas personalizado. Hicimos paradas que no estaban contempladas, tomamos fotos. muy muy entretenido.​

Gracias a Erich y su empresa tuvimos con mi hija Amanda la alegríaCool de poder visitar los geyser....cuando todo augüraba que sería muy difícil por los caminos cerrados a raiz de la tormenta...pero este experto conductor y además muy buen guía se animó a abrir camino y lo hizo de maravilla.Además nos reímos mucho con su buen humor, re bautizando la empresa como "contigo aprendo"...

Muy agradable el grupo, lo que se ve favorecido por lo personalizdo del tour y el favorecer grupos pequeños.Felicitaciones! y que sigas teniendo mucho éxito..sin duda, te recomendaré...
